Big Business in Little Game

Currently, the casual gaming market is worth an estimated $350 million, but that could grow to $1 billion by 2008, according to Jupiter Research. By 2010, the number of casual players could grow from today’s 60 million to as many as 80 million players.

According to market research done by Jupiter Research published on Business Week’s website, with 3 major casual game developers, the future looks bright for the casual game genre.

What the majority called “Casual game” was once the largest available game genre on console and computer. Ranging from the classical Alley Cat to the hugely popular Tetris, almost any one have heard of or played with either one of this game. Yet, most would coff at the idea of them being serious (earning) game.
